Taketeru Kudo (butoh dancer) and Michael Pestel (birdmachinist and flutist), have performed Butoh in diverse locations in Japan and USA since 2000. In their east-west migrations, they work their way, little by little, through Rabindranath Tagore’s aphorisms in his 1916 collection, Stray Birds. There are over a thousand poetic gems, enough for the next hundred years of performance.
