In June of 2008, Ben Opie and I organized a five-day Anthony Braxton Festival in Pittsburgh. Ben led his creative arts high school students at CAPA in the performance of several Braxton compositions, and organized a performance of Braxton works performed by Braxton and local jazz players at Manchester Craftsmans Guild auditorium. Ben also organized a duet recording session with Braxton at Carnegie Mellon University. For my part, I introduced Anthony to the Pittsburgh Aviary for three days of interspecies explorations including one public performance with my group, Syrinx Ensemble. The video is a brief compilation of footage from that performance.
