Songs and Calls was expressed in a variety of avian and human voices and took place in Pittsburgh’s National Aviary over a span of twenty years from 1995 to 2015. It included such luminaries as Jeroen van Westen, Taketeru Kudo, David Rothenberg, Lisa Westberg, T’Bird Love, Helen Frederick, Anthony Braxton, t,ac, Stephan Boyle, Phil Rostek, Ben Opie, and many others.  Always, the intention was to entrain with bird sound, consider the meaning of sounds we can no longer hear (extinction), and to expand the boundaries of our human music to merge with the sounds of the biosphere and beyond.
